My second book has been completed and tested! Yeah! My writing friend, Alesa Campbell taught Jesus, One on One, to a group of Henderson Hills Baptist church ladies. Their feedback has been beneficial and their encouragement wonderful. I thank all of them.
I started writing Jesus, One on One about 8 months ago. During my personal Bible study in Matthew, I looked at what an individual encounter would look like. How did Jesus respond to a person standing right in front of him? As a Biblical counselor, I wanted to know. I learned more than I expected. Jesus treats each person differently. Each individual was unique and he addressed their specific issues in specific, practical ways. No two were alike.
Like us. We all struggle with our own issues and no two are alike. Jesus can address our uniqueness in a unique way.
The Holy Spirit guides in unusual ways, like when I’m helping someone delve into their mind and emotions to discover the distress. God leads, through questions, words, and what do you call it? Intuition? Maybe. All I know is that the insight is not from me. The direction comes from someone besides me, someone who knows much more about a person than I do. From a Spirit who knows us intimately and can guide us into all truth.
As a writer, Biblical counselor, teacher and speaker, I have seen many everyday encounters with Jesus. Ministering to women individually and through retreats and seeing the light of God bring truth is an awesome experience. I also personally know about Jesus encounters.
In between encounters, or maybe along with them, I have written three books. None are published– so far–but I’m actively working on it! Two of my Bible studies have been taught several times and I have had many articles, poems and stories have appear in many magazines and books.
My husband, Bill and I teach a Bible classes to International college students at Henderson Hills Baptist Church. I’m also on the mission team there. Reaching out in love to others is one of my passions.
Besides writing, speaking and telling others about Jesus, my time is spent with my precious family.
