Readers—those who love the smell and feel of books, words strewn together in enticing ways, and a plot that thickens toward midnight—might be kinfolk. Someday, someone will probably discover a gene we have in common. A reader gene, so to speak.
I love books, and the book signing for Fremont’s Promise, my new historical novel, was loads of fun, primarily because I got to chat with so many interesting people (readers are always interesting). This signing was in Shawnee, Oklahoma, and I can’t thank The Arts at 317 enough. Beth was so helpful. If you missed it, more book signing events will be coming up!
I was overjoyed that my co-writer and book mentor dropped by. Margaret Pope Akin, at 88 years old, signed her first book! It’s been a few tough years for my beautiful mother, but she’s hanging in there. Please keep her in your prayers.
Thank you all for your amazing support and if you’re a reader and especially love family sagas based on true events and about the Great Depression, the Dust Bowl, and the 1930s and 40s, you’ll love this book series.
