If you are an eBook reader, my second Christian historical novel, A Promise Child, is now ready to read on kindle! Writing about the 1930s has been fun. But then, I like the research even if I tend to get sidetracked into bits of fascinating history.

The first book in the series, A Promise to Break, shows Sibyl Trimble Pope struggling with her identity and the promises she made to her father. Sibyl, groomed for a future in the political arena, falls in love Fremont, a penniless hobo. Their story encompasses many aspects of the 1930’s, representing life for people who remained in Oklahoma during thirties.

A Promise Child, the second book in the series continues with Sibyl, abandoned by her wealthy father, struggling through the Dust Bowl and Great Depression. A new child promises hope for the end of the disastrous decade.

Sibyl’s story has farm losses, bank foreclosure and illegal activity, PWA work, failures, divorce, wealth, and poverty. Each book of the Shawnee, Oklahoma, series deals with a different phase of Sibyl’s life and growth, from breaking away from her demanding father to seeking value in home life and material goods, to trying to please God through her many good works.

Will Sibyl ever find peace and the happy home life she craves?

I’m now working on the third book in the series! Hope to have it ready by early 2018!

May you enjoy the journey into the thirties! A review of the book would be greatly appreciated! Here’s the Amazon link to the book: http://amzn.to/2szydtf
